A Letter From Our Mabry PTSA President

On behalf of the Mabry Middle School PTSA, welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!

We are looking forward to a great year for our Mabry Family.

We are excited to have you joining our school community of the best students, parents, teachers, and staff you can imagine. If you are a first-time middle school parent, the transition from elementary school to middle school may seem overwhelming. PTSA is here to ease that transition by being your go to resource for school information. If you are a veteran Mabry parent, you may notice that things look a little different this year. New logos, new faces, and new STEAM and Learning Common Certifications are some of the many exciting things happening at Mabry. However, one thing that will always remain the same is that the PTSA is still focused on its mission - .. which is… to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

Every child. One voice.

But we can’t do it without you!

If you haven’t already, please consider joining the Mabry MS PTSA today HERE. Membership is open to parents, students, teachers, grandparents, partner in education, sponsors as well as others from the community who want to help our school.  We hope you will consider buying a membership package or making a one-time donation to help us fund all the ways we impact the school. Mabry MS PTSA puts events throughout the school year such as the Fall Social, Game & Movie Night, Teacher mini-grants, International Night, Fun Run, Field Days, Grade-level incentives and rewards, 8th grade picnic and dance, plus so much more. Instead of having to charge students to attend events or holding traditional fundraisers throughout the year, Mabry MS PTSA asks each family to make a donation to the PTSA. We don’t want to ask the students to sell products or discount cards that take away from the fundraising of other school organizations and booster clubs. This is the only time we will be asking for money and best of all, the donation is tax-deductible!

Additionally, parent volunteers are always welcome.  Don’t believe the myth that parents are
no longer wanted in middle school! We have many opportunities to help and ask you to take a moment to see where you might be able to volunteer your time and your talent to our Mabry Family.  Our goal is to get EVERYONE involved. Please reach out to our VP Volunteers, Melanie Coon, if you are interested and check the Mabry Middle School PTSA eBlast often to review the many volunteer opportunities. You can also sign up to help on our website at Mabry Middle School PTSA - Cobb County, GA - Volunteer (membershiptoolkit.com).

We are looking forward to a fabulous year!  We have a lot of fun things planned and are eager to get started.  Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing all of you at the upcoming grade level open houses.

Let’s have a great year and achieve our mission together!

Many thanks,
Illana Burkhart
